Master Michael Huang is a distinguished martial artist, recognized globally for his expertise and contributions to Tien Shan Pai kung fu. As one of only three individuals honored by Grandmaster Huang as a Master in Tien Shan Pai, he holds the highest rank among Grandmaster Huang’s students, boasting an 8th degree from the International Tien Shan Pai Association.
Master Huang’s journey in martial arts began at the tender age of three and a half, laying a robust foundation for his future endeavors. His comprehensive knowledge spans Tai Ji Quan, Xing Yi Quan, Ba Gua Zhang, and Daoist meditation, making him a versatile and well-rounded martial artist. He holds a 7th-degree Black Sash under the World Kuo Shu Federation (TWKSF) ranking system and is an internationally certified TWKSF level A Referee.

Throughout his illustrious career, Master Huang has garnered numerous accolades in both national and international tournaments, securing multiple 1st place awards in empty hand forms, weapon forms, two-person forms, light contact, and Lei Tai fighting. Notably, he was honored as the USKSF Adult Male Competitor of the Year in 2001 and the USKSF Male Lei Tai Competitor of the Year in 2010.
Master Huang’s prowess extends beyond individual achievements. As a vital member of the U.S. national team, he contributed to their success at the 2009 World Kuo Shu Championship tournament in Germany and the 2012 World Kuo Shu Championship Tournament in Malaysia, where he secured 4th and 2nd place in full-contact Lei Tai fighting, respectively. His leadership was instrumental in leading the U.S. team to gold at the 2015 World Tournament.
In addition to his competition success, Master Huang is dedicated to philanthropy, participating in martial arts demonstrations that have raised significant funds for esteemed organizations such as St Jude’s Children’s Research Center, the Maryland Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the September 11th Relief Efforts, among others. His efforts have earned him numerous citations from government officials for his unwavering promotion of Chinese Martial Arts.
Master Huang serves as the President of the International Tien Shan Pai Association and holds key positions on the USKSF Executive Committee and the TWKSF Executive Committee. As the Master Instructor at the U.S. Kuo Shu Academy, he brings over 30 years of teaching experience to the forefront, passionately training and coaching the next generation of martial arts practitioners. His students not only achieve world championship titles but also embody the values of discipline and character, becoming champions in life.
